Do you ever stop and think...man, I should find away to remember this. For me it's using photos, and I knew that with aging Grandparents that live in a tech free world...their life is something of a rarity versus a normal. I spent a day with my grandparents in January to document their daily routine.
Two thousand and sixteen...a bittersweet year, in many ways. I am grateful to the families that I get to capture each year, watching their families grow. My heart hurts for the families that lost loved ones that were photographed and are no longer with us, but thankful that the moments exist. My joy soars for newborns and witnessing families grow and love bigger (thank you to all the families for letting me snuggle your little ones, it keeps this family from growing each year ;-) ). I am thankful, to the couples who trust in me to photograph their wedding day. Capturing the love, the joy, the tears, the stillness, and all those who joined together to witness and support their life together. Honestly, weddings are the best, being present and an active part of someones happiest day is an honor.
Thank you to all my beautiful families, couples, seniors, and to my husband and our nanny....whom make it possible to confidently leave four children and pursue my joys and be 'me' for an hour or two!
Kate and Dave ,not ones to declare their spirit animals, had them lovingly given to them by the MOH during her speech. It left us all little teary eyed, but mostly with full hearts as a day of joy, laughter, and love was coming to an end. So here they are, the Owl and the Butterfly on one of the most beautiful October days that felt more like June. On her parents farmed tucked right in the middle of Minnesota.
"They say that the road ain't no place to start a family, right down the line it's been you and me. And lovin' a music man ain't always what it's supposed to be...Oh, girl you stand by me, I'm forever yours, faithfully."
"It's the easy silence that you make for me. It's okay when there's nothing more to say to me. And the peaceful quiet you create for me and the way you keep the world at bay for me."
A bittersweet engagement session of the couples home/city of the last 8+years. They are heading West for a new chapter in their lives and I am happy we were able to squeeze this in. Brandon, was able to join me on this session and it was a beautiful collaboration of our styles.
A gorgeous lady, lovely lingerie and the sweetest flowers; the key ingredients to one of my most favorite things to photograph. A huge thank you to Munster Rose for their lovely floral arrangements that time after time impress and transform everything into instant beauty. Minnesota truly is blessed to have so many individuals that bring so much life into these cities as well as inspire clients, customers and their peers. Room No. 3 is one of these. They are located on 50th and France in Edina and their boutique is truly a lovely experience. Their lovelies shown here would make excellent gifts today for the lady you love. Gals, spoil yourself with a satin robe or comfy loungewear, you won't regret it.
